Volunteer
East Metro Youth Services (EMYS) believes it is important to support youth in our community through a partnership with generous volunteers who are willing to share their time, skills and talents with our agency. The Volunteer Program of EMYS provides meaningful opportunities to get involved. By donating their time and skills, volunteers make an important contribution to mental health services for youth and their families. EMYS is committed to providing opportunities for our volunteers to learn and serve the Scarborough community.

In accepting volunteers, EMYS makes a commitment to: - Provide basic training and instruction and, where appropriate, opportunities to participate in a number of areas within programs and services offered at EMYS

- Provide volunteer assignments that are appropriate to the individual's level of knowledge, skills, and life experience, particularly in the beginning phase of placement.

To secure and retain an E.M.Y.S. volunteer placement position, volunteers are expected to:
-Adhere to the Centre's code of ethics.

- Realistically evaluate their capacity and availability to take on a particular volunteer assignment before committing themselves to do so.

-Follow through on their assignment in a reliable and committed manner. -Observe the personnel policies and procedures that are applicable to all Agency staff, students and volunteers.
